So you fancy some live music for your events - now you need to find the right kind. You might be lucky enough to know some great musicians yourself (my mum always recommends me), but if not it’s usually a good idea to call in the professionals. So where do the best live music acts live? Chances are that they can be found on an entertainment agency like Warble Entertainment. Yep, I know I deal with these guys but there’s a reason I do and I’ll go into that later. For now here are some solid reasons to book your band through an agency.
As mentioned in my previous post, not all bands are created equal. I have heard of countless examples of clients who have booked bands only to be let down by poor organisation on the part of the act. When you deal with a quality agent then you are protected by a contract: no last minute hitches and a point of contact throughout the booking process.
When you want your event to be memorable, you want choice. An agent with a wide roster of talent will offer you just that. You’ll also be dealing with professionals. If a band has a strong work-ethic to match their talent, the chances are they are working with an agency. Think of it as a stamp of approval.
Like bands, not all agents are created equal. If you choose the right agency to help find your act, then you will find the right act. So what makes a good agent? Well you’ll probably be looking for the same things I was looking for when I developed my band: you want a working business, with a number of knowledgable sales staff and a secure and simple booking process. If you take these ingredients you will receive all the help and advice you need to make sure your night goes off with a bang.
Those are your main reasons, so why did I choose Warble? Well for starters they are a big business, they have lots of friendly staff who know their stuff and their website is easy to navigate at home or on the go. Yes, they book me but take it as someone who works full-time in the industry and books independently: Warble are a fantastic agency and they really have got you covered (sorry, couldn’t resist). If you do go elsewhere then I have one piece of advice - keep it professional. I know I’m using that word a lot but you should be treating your music the way you would any other part of your event. You wouldn’t buy your dress from a car-boot sale and you wouldn’t find your venue written on the walls of the gent’s toilets.
